Mitchell Fine Arts Scholarship

In 2007, the Friends of Polish Art received a sizable bequest from the Lillian and Chester Mitchell Trust. The Mitchells were long-time members of this organization and residents of Redford, MI. Chester was a pharmacist who had been active in the Polish Community.

Two $2500.00 scholarships are available annually to students pursuing studies in painting, sculpture, music, drama, theater, dance and other forms of creative expression as well as history, literature, religion, philosophy and Polish Studies.

Eligibility:

  1. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of the State of Michigan.
  2. Applicant must be of Polish Ancestry and/or a connection to the Polish Community.
  3. Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester in college or university in pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Master degree, or a matriculated High School senior who will graduate in the year the application is submitted.
  4. Applicant may apply for only one of the scholarships( Mitchell Fine Arts or Frank Filipek).

NOTE: In order to be eligible for an award, the application with all required documentation must be received no later than April 24, 2024 (faxes not accepted).
